EDUCATION

We provide opportunities for all to learn more about Indigenous culture through historical, cultural, and traditional teachings. The intention of this learning is that we create respect and recognition of culture and begin to build bridges between communities.

SUPPORT

An opportunity to connect individuals and community with Elders. This is achieved through Ceremony, circles, and drop in gatherings.

CONNECTION &
INTEGRATION

By way of Ceremonies, including Smudge, Pipe Circles, Sweat Lodges, among others, we strive to offer equal opportunity to all to engage in connection and reconnection with Creator, self, family, and community. The healing power of Ceremony integrated into our daily lives creates immeasurable change.

In the Spirit of the Truth, we acknowledge and recognize past and ongoing injustices. HBHL is committed to Reconciliation and healing with all Indigenous Peoples as we value accountability, dignity, collaboration, and continuous learning. HBHL recognizes the traditional territories, oral practices, and history of the Blackfoot Confederacy, Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika Nations. The Stoney Nakota Nations of Chiniki, Goodstoney/Wesley, and Bearspaw and The Tsuut’ina Nation of Treaty 7. We also acknowledge Métis Nation Region 3 and all who live, work and steward the Treaty 7 territories. As Treaty 7 Peoples we are all responsible for the continued health and honouring of these Sacred homelands.
