Community Sweat Lodge

The Sweat Lodge is a powerful body, mind, and spirit cleansing and healing Ceremony.  It is also considered to be a rebirthing Ceremony as the Lodge itself represents the womb of Mother Earth. We enter the Lodge in a sacred way and offer prayers, tobacco, and gratitude with the Ancestor Stones that are there with love to help us heal.

The Community Sweat Lodge takes place on the Stoney Nakoda Reserve, near the town of Mînî Thnî (Morley). These Lodges are run by Wade Maude, who is Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk), and we are honoured to gather on the land which is stewarded by Helmer Twoyoungmen and their family.

Community Sweat Lodges are an all-day gathering and open to everyone. Participants arrive in the morning, and protocols and teaching are shared prior to entering the Lodge.  A potluck-styled meal is shared upon completion of the Lodge and restoration of the space.
