About the event

Cultivating Compassion is a workshop that strives to bring awareness and understanding of Indigenous histories on the lands now known as Canada. As we coexist, learn, and evolve on this shared soil, it is our collective responsibility to grasp the significance of reconciliation and actively engage in its pursuit.

Join us as we embark on a transformative journey to explore pathways toward reconciliation and responsible decolonization, whether as individuals, communities, or businesses. This is a four-module series, and while attendance to all four sessions is encouraged, you're welcome to join any that align with your schedule. Remember, every session contributes to our shared learning experience.

We are honored to have Elder Ruby Eaglechild joining us for this gathering, sharing her wisdom and offering insights into the discussions.

During this session, we will delve into the following vital topics:

  • Uncovering the pre-"first contact" cultural, linguistic, spiritual, scientific, social, and economic practices.
  • Understanding the importance of Indigenous pedagogy.
  • Exploring the significance of the Seven Sacred Teachings in comprehending what has been lost.
  • Navigating the realms of linear and circular thinking.
